Taking Total Responsibility

One thing I’ve learned along this path is that it is crucial to be in alignment with my truth and that in order to experience the kind of abundance, joy and freedom I want, requires that I take total responsibility for how I’m showing up in the world.

Taking total responsibility also includes OWNING our stuff. Taking responsibility for all of our shortcomings and idiosyncrasies without judgment, excuses and perpetuating stories that keep us from experiencing freedom and living our truth. Taking total responsibility doesn’t mean things won’t come up, including a spectrum of feelings that can range from grief, sorrow, pain & loss but the beautiful part about taking total responsibility is that we also get to experience feelings of ecstatic joy & Love.

For me, taking total responsibility in various areas of my life has required me to go DEEP and to finally let go of all the things that are no longer serving my highest good. This includes letting go of a beautiful 14-year relationship with my partner who I Love, honor & respect. Even sharing this, elicits feelings of sorrow but also a profound sense of Love and being completely aligned with my truth. That’s the magic about taking total responsibility, while the process of letting go isn’t always easy; in my experience I’ve found there is nothing more liberating than being able to speak one’s truth.

Once we are able to come into alignment with our truth, it becomes much easier to take total responsibility for how we’re showing up in the world. It’s from this space that we’re able to recognize the importance of giving ourselves permission to not only observe our thoughts, actions and deeds but also embrace the range of emotions that arise in any given moment. The challenge of course, lies in our ability to actually BE with whatever arises and also honor those thoughts, feelings and emotions with compassion, kindness, understanding and Love.

By allowing ourselves to observe our feelings, without projecting or placing judgment or expectations onto others, including ourselves -we discover a deeper, underlying truth that surpasses all intellectual understanding and connects us more deeply to our Spiritual Hearts- the seat of our Soul. It is from this place that we come into complete alignment with the truth of who we are and begin to experience total freedom.

So my question is, how are you showing up in the world? And what are you taking total responsibility for?

As always, I would Love to hear from you. Feel free to drop me an email or leave a comment or question below.

With Love & Light,
Namaste
