It’s Time to Follow Your Bliss

I think one of the most courageous things we can do in life is to listen to our heart and follow our bliss. I’ll admit it’s taken me a long time to fully muster up the courage to follow my bliss. In fact, up until a few months ago I was still very much attached to the idea that I had to maintain my full time job while I grew my Reiki/coaching practice because it was the “safe” and “smart” thing to do- despite the fact that it’s no longer serving my highest good and that it has kept me from actually growing my practice.

You see, if you’re like me you’re the kind of person who is prone to analyze every move; carefully weighing all the “pros” and “cons”. The truth is so much time and mental energy is wasted strategically plotting every move and calculating every outcome because in all actuality- outcomes are always uncertain.

After journaling one morning, I realized how much time I had wasted contemplating outcomes and placing conditions and limitations on what is possible for my life. I also realized how I was marginalizing my success, limiting my potential, and denying my own power to manifest my deepest desires.

In Dr. Wayne Dyer’s latest book, Wishes Fulfilled Dyer says, “An inner knowing, along with a burning desire, is the pre-requisite for becoming a person capable of manifesting his or her heart’s desires.” He also says that in order to achieve your desires, you have to take on “new truths and shed old views of what you can achieve.”

After dedicating the last few years of my life to a spiritual path of personal growth. One of the many things I have discovered is that in order to embrace my authentic power and really align with my higher self, I’ve had to challenge my conditioned beliefs, shed old views and replace those views with a higher concept of myself and what I can achieve. By the way, I’m happy to report by the end of June I will solely be dedicated to running my practice fulltime!

Are you ready to muster up some courage and shed some limiting beliefs of your own? How are your current beliefs holding you back from achieving your deepest desires? What would it mean for you embrace your authentic power and follow your bliss? Let me know. Feel free to drop a comment below or email me @ adventuresinsolitude@ymail.com .

Uncertainty = Possibility

“In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty…in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning. And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.” ~Deepak Chopra

When we acknowledge that uncertainty doesn’t have to elicit a fear response, we can begin to embrace uncertainty as a field of endless possibility. It is this shift in perspective that not only propels us in the direction of our highest good, it allows us to dance cheek to cheek with the Universe.

In what areas of your life are you holding uncertainty? Can you see uncertainty as an opportunity for possibility? Finally, in what ways can you embrace uncertainty, step into the unknown and surrender to the greater possibilities of your life? Understanding Reiki

It is always interesting and fun to share with people that I practice Reiki. In my experience, not many people are familiar with Reiki like they are with a practice such as yoga. Those who are interested in learning about Reiki often ask me to describe Reiki in one word. However, the experience of Reiki cannot be defined or conveyed by a single word, as each Reiki session will prove to be unique to the individual.

What is Reiki

In short, Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. That being said, if your energy is unbalanced, low or depleted, you can be susceptible to fatigue, stress, illness or all of the above. On the other hand, if your energy is balanced and functioning at an optimal level, you will most likely be mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually balanced and healthy.

What to Expect During a Reiki Session

In my practice, I have had many clients share similar feelings and experiences. Including feeling very relaxed, lighter, calmer, more peaceful, and centered. There are also instances when a significant shift has taken place- a healing that is both profound and apparent not only to the client but to me as the practitioner. None the less, I am always humbled and grateful for being attuned to this sacred practice and sharing it with others.

Why I am Grateful for Reiki

Reiki is one of many practices that has proved to be vital to my own journey of growth and transformation. Combined with Yoga and meditation, Reiki has helped me connect more deeply with the Universal life force energy that surrounds and connects us all. I am grateful for Reiki because it has helped me address my own physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual imbalances and I know in my heart that it will help you do the same, as I have witnessed firsthand how Reiki has benefited my clients, family and friends. What are the benefits of Reiki?

Benefits Include:

Relaxation
Reduced Anxiety
Relief of Pain
Release Blocked/Suppressed Feelings
Clearing of Toxins
Natural Self-Healing
Enhanced Well Being
Stronger Self Esteem
Improved Sleep
Improved Digestion
Accelerated Surgery Recovery
Greater Sense of Self Awareness
Greater Ease and Satisfaction in Relationships
Heightened Sense of Intuition

In a world where daily life can sometimes present us with the challenge of finding and maintaining balance, who wouldn’t want to integrate a simple practice into their daily routine to promote greater relaxation, balance, and peace?

Previous Post

As I continue to open myself up to life’s possibilities by moving forward with my plans to grow my Reiki and coaching practice, I’ve been experiencing so many amazing synchronicities and blessings (all of which have reinforced that I am on the right path). However, before I go further I want to make it clear that this “opening up” is not a temporary thing, it is a lifelong endeavor.

Being open to life’s possibilities continually calls upon me to face my fears and reinforce my value and self worth. Looking back it has been a long road but I have learned that I have to meet myself where I stand, right here- right now. I have also learned that my faith is everything.

I remember watching an interview with Dr. Maya Angelou and being reminded that “faith is the evidence of things not seen”. After watching this interview I couldn’t help but re-examine my faith. By cultivating a deep sense of faith, my faith has deepened and I recognize faith as an essential component to my spiritual path and suspect that it will be for your path as well.

You see, I believe that embarking on a spiritual path takes tremendous courage, strength, and the utmost faith. I also believe that because a spiritual path is really about one’s own healing, growth, and transformation; self inquiry is a necessity. For me, this kind of self inquiry requires me to “check in” on myself (when needed) to determine if I am being authentic, open, and consciously present in the moment.

Recently I had a conversation with a friend about how our most intimate relationships, especially with our partners and spouses affords us all the opportunity to “check ourselves before we wreck ourselves”. We discussed how this kind of “check in” is really about determining if we are being open, conscious, and present to the moment, to ourselves and to others. Checking in on ourselves allows us to shine a light upon our actions and behavior to see if we are truly being authentic, kind, loving, and compassionate.

After walking away from this conversation I contemplated instances I have been in the presence of another whose light and spirit shined so brightly that my own light and goodness was mirrored back to me. I also thought about instances when being in the presence of someone really special and dynamic mirrored back to me shadowy tendencies of my personality that include a tendency to sometimes be impatient, not so compassionate, and opinionated! Then I had an “AHA” moment!

You see, we all have the opportunity to truly see ourselves in another. For me, I have been blessed to have a partner and best friend who I love and respect beyond words. I regard him as one of my angels and teachers. It is in the light and integrity of who he is that I am able to see who I am. When I am giving love, being patient, and kind- it is reflected back to me through him and when I am not being so patient, loving, or kind; the shadowy part of my personality is reflected back to me in the light of who he is. It is through his patience, love, and kindness that I am able to check myself and hold a mirror up to my impatient, not so loving and unkind ways.

Sometimes it is painful to recognize shadowy parts of ourselves- aspects of our personality we are not proud of. The truth is no matter how much inner work we do or how much we evolve, from time to time these shadowy aspects of our personality will emerge and make a guest appearance in our lives. But if we’re able to be conscious and present in every moment, we will be able to check our shadows accordingly!

My question to you is where are you feeling stuck in your life? What is holding you back from opening yourself up to life’s possibilities? Do you need to re-examine your faith? Do you need to let go of negative beliefs and judgments about yourself and others? Do you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself? :) Well, one thing is for sure, there is no time like the present to let go of the past and open yourself up to the possibilities that exist within your life right here- right now!

Your Word is Everything

Have you ever said something that wasn’t so nice and not more than two seconds after you uttered those words you wanted to take them back? Well the truth of the matter is, YOUR WORD IS EVERYTHING! SO…Be mindful of what you say because what you say DOES matter!

Please keep in mind I am not suggesting that if someone treats you unkindly you should just sit back and tolerate it, NO! However, what I am suggesting is that you start to consciously become aware of the words you speak.

Ask yourself the following questions:

“Do I talk about others behind their back?”
“Do my words uplift others, or do my words bring them down?”
“Do I complain, or speak negatively about people, places, or things?”
“Do I tell lies, even tiny little white ones?”

If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then perhaps it’s time to take a DEEP look into the mirror to determine why you have a tendency to talk trash! With some earnest introspection what you will discover is the negative core values, beliefs and judgments you hold of others directly corresponds with the insecurities, fears, judgments, and expectations you hold of yourself. And Remember: Your outer world is but a mere reflection of your inner world.

Want to speak with integrity and know that what you have to say does matter?

Look for the good in others, and in all things. Let your words bless others-not condemn them. Say only what you mean, and may your words come from a place of truth, kindness, love and compassion.
